The Castel Sant’Angelo, also known as the Mausoleum of Hadrian, is located on the right bank of the river Tiber. Booking a hotel room in the surrounding area will give you access to many public transport links, not mention there are plenty of the traditional restaurants and shops around.
Along the shore of the Tiber River, not far from the Vatican City, the castle was once the Adrian Mausoleum before becoming a fortress and prison.It is now home to the National museum of the Castel Sánt Angelo.
